Why does structured data matter for AI search?
Organization and LocalBusiness markup states, in a format machines read reliably, who you are, what you do, where you are and which profiles belong to you. It removes guesswork when search engines and AI systems connect your website to your brand. It does not guarantee that an AI engine will mention you.
Organization or LocalBusiness: which should I use?
Use LocalBusiness (or a more specific type such as Dentist, Restaurant or LegalService) if customers visit you or you serve a defined area. Use Organization for online-only businesses and brands without a physical location.
Where do I paste the code?
In the <head> of your homepage. In WordPress, use a header-scripts plugin such as WPCode, or the schema settings in your SEO plugin. Then test the page with Google's Rich Results Test or the Schema Markup Validator.
Will FAQ schema give me rich results in Google?
Since 2023, Google shows FAQ rich results only for a small set of authoritative government and health websites. FAQPage markup is still valid and machine-readable, so it can help systems understand your questions and answers, but most sites should not expect the visual rich result.
